Story doesn’t have any specific relation with the title except 2-3 scenes of a puppet show with the name Gulabo-Sitabo shown in the background. Best part is star cast Mirza (Big B), Bankey (Aayushman) and Gyanesh Shukla (Vijay raaj) to talk about their acting is like Light up the sun.Supporting cast Christopher Clark (Brijendra Kala), Guddo (Srishti Shrivastava) and others did justice to their role. Fatima Begum (Farrukh Jafar) is a Bumper Lottery with a bonus in her 4-5 scene.
It’s a simple story about 100-120 year old Fatima Mahal, 95 year old Fatima Begum, owner of the Haveli. Mirza is her husband, greedy or crazy about haveli and always fighting with tenants over the rent, maintenance, behaviour etc. All the tenants have fixed their roots in haveli, not leaving haveli and paying negligible rent. Bankey is one of the tenants paying very less rent amongst all. Gyanesh Shukla, an officer of the Archeological department plans to encroach Haveli by declaring it a historical monument and a government property.For that he tempts the tenant with some fake commitment of a new flat and convince them to vacate haveli.He tries to kick out Mirza-Begum by warning them about Haveli by saying Haveli can collapse anytime and is dangerous to live. Christopher Clark tries to help Mirza to change ownership of the Haveli.
In short, the story is all about a Tom-n-Jerry fight of Mirza-Baankey-Gyanesh for Fatima Mahal.
Director Shoojit Sircar with classy and elite starcast (BigB, AyuKhu) put all his effort to reach the height of expectation but rope of a story doesn’t allow them to reach the peak.
You can watch it without much hope, to know the end of the Tom-n-Jerry fight between Mirza-Bankey, to know who finally owns the Haveli and for a social message.You will get a sweet candy of some funny scenes as a refreshment.
Else you can skip it without losing anything and saving time.
